Bixuan Sun was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Center for Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Her research examines policies assisting with the transition to cleaner, more efficient energy systems using both economic theories and empirical methods. Her post-doc work with Prof. Gabe Chan investigates what factors drive innovation in energy technologies and the role of spillovers in government investment. She received her PhD in applied economics from University of Minnesota in 2018, her MS from the same program in 2015, and her BA degree in economics from University of Minnesota-Morris in 2013. She currently works at Xcel Energy as a resource planning analyst.
